This curriculum is designed for first year Ob Gyn residents. It is  incorporated into the MFM rotation , divided into two halves. The ob ultrasound objectives will be progressive over the course of the curriculum.

You will rotate with  Dr. Chong for  Gynecologic ultrasound for  the PGY1. You will rotate with Dr. Kennedy for benign breast diseases  and Dr. Fine for Breast Cancer.   Your readings for  ultrasound, both Ob and Gyn, as well as readings for benign breast disease are in this Moodle. Dr. Fine will provider her own references

The goal is to provide the foundations of ob gyn ultrasound , and allow to you function in Ob Triage, the OB  wards and clinic. You will build on this foundation during your second and third year. 

This curriculum is adapted from the publication by the American Institute of Ultrasound of Medicine ( AIUM)  called “ Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology , Report of a Multi-specialty Task Force on Ultrasound Training Curriculum and Competency Assessment in Residency Programs “

The rotations consists of five  components :

Some of these resources will also be available to read in the MFM reading rooms at both UMN Women’s Imaging and the Eubank office

This course is linked to the DOT Highway course. You cannot access this course without first enrolling in a DOT Highway course. Automatic access will be given after enrollment in the prerequisite course.

OVERVIEW

This course is supplemental to DOT Training for Highway Shippers of Radioactive Materials for ground transport of radioactive materials and is NOT available as a separate course. It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that all other DOT training requirements have been met as outlined in the Prerequisites listed below.

Goal: The goal of this program is to provide required training specific to the packaging, labeling and proper documentation of packages containing radioactive materials with the proper shipping name of Radioactive Material, Type A Package to be offered for transport by domestic air carriers.

Prerequisites: Satisfactory completion of DOT Training for Highway Shippers of Radioactive Materials for either Radiopharmacy/Manufacturing Facility employees or Nuclear Medicine Technologists.

1. General awareness and familiarization with radioactive materials.
2. General safety considerations for radioactive materials.
3. Security awareness training.

OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this course, the participant will be able to:

• Discuss the regulatory agencies responsible for US air transport of radioactive materials.
• Discuss the input of advisory groups who influence the regulations of air transport of dangerous goods.
• Explain the requirements for appropriate packaging and labeling of packages offered for domestic air transport.
• Complete a Dangerous Goods Air bill for Radioactive Material, Type A Package.

The DOT Training for Highway Shippers and Transporters of Radioactive Material/Radiopharmaceuticals - Courier Services course is intended for those who make deliveries only and do not prepare packages or shipping documents for radioactive materials.

The DOT training requirements covered in this course include:

1. General awareness and familiarization with radioactive materials.
2. General safety considerations for radioactive materials.
3. Security awareness training.
4. Function-specific training for the training for the transport and delivery of radioactive materials.

OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this course, the participant will be able to:

• Define hazardous materials.
• Discuss the general safety considerations associated with the transport of radioactive materials.
• Describe the security measures to be taken with radiopharmaceuticals.
• Describe the specific considerations for the safe transport and delivery of packages of radioactive materials.

This course meets the training requirements established by the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy for qualification of New Mexico licensed pharmacists’ prescriptive authority for tobacco cessation drug therapy. [16.19.26.10 NMAC-N, 12-15-02]

GOAL

The goal of this course is to provide the nuclear pharmacy technician with the knowledge to demonstrate drug information, follow correct procedures pertaining to the accurate calculation and measurement of prescription radiopharmaceuticals and to assist the nuclear pharmacist in administrative and customer service issues on a daily basis within the governing laws and regulations of the specific practice site.

PREREQUISITES

• Employment in a nuclear pharmacy
• A minimum of 90-days experience as a nuclear pharmacy technician.
• Authorized Nuclear Pharmacist preceptor

This course does not award CPE credit.
